The Miami Recognition Dinner is the premier annual celebration of South Florida's lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) community. The National Gay and Lesbian Task Force produces the event and donates a significant portion of the proceeds to other nonprofit organizations serving the Miami-Dade LGBT community.

Kristin Beck, born Christopher Beck, is known to be the first transgender U.S. Navy SEAL.
